Description
Because, oddly enough, I like this uncolored version. Figure that one out.
I'm usually open to feedback on my things. One person realized that Kotori's kakuja form didn't look human enough to gel with the rest of the canon. It was always designed to fit very close to her skin (very much unlike Eto's), but that aside, I did wonder why her kakuja turned out the way it did. Such things usually come first unconsciously, then consciously, leaving me to consciously WTF for a while.
The answers I came up with were pretty interesting:
1. My own creativity manifests readily as animals rather than humanoids. Kotori, as a character, also uses her transitional stages between humanoid and not more often than Eto (who does her bestial kakuja switch in one fell swoop), usually to claw-fight (a la Yamori in the anime) or to improve her foot speed.
2. Kotori, no matter what continuity I play her in, is always treated as a pet somewhere down the line. It's part of her backstory.
3. When a phoenix dies, it comes back as a worm. (This is from the Greek version of the lore.) Something that magnificent reduced to something feral could indeed be a metaphor/reference.
The exact conditions surrounding her kakuja are still in flux, and vary wildly with the setting. If anyone's interested in sorting through the various threads with me concerning the Red Beast, I'd appreciate the help.
Tokyo Ghoul belongs to Ishida Sui; Kotori's mine.
